David M. Geliebter, Chairman and Acting CEO, Co-Founder

David is a serial entrepreneur with significant experience successfully starting, growing and selling businesses. David founded and ran the Carson Group, one of the world's most successful financial information and advisory companies. Additionally, he was a founding principal and President of Evolution Capital, a healthcare investment banking firm. Both Carson Group and Evolution Capital were sold to the Thomson Corporation in 2000. David is the Managing Partner of Carrot Capital Healthcare Ventures and is the Chairman of three of its portfolio companies.

James V. Snider, Ph.D., President

James joined Critical Diagnostics as President in 2005, shortly after the company's formation. He has extensive experience in product development and operations in both startup and large companies. Prior to joining Critical Diagnostics, James was the Executive Vice President of Business & Operations for IntelligentMD, an early-stage medical device company that focuses on the essential elements of disease diagnostics and therapeutic intervention. Previously, he spent eight years in a series of marketing and product development positions at Applied Biosystems (ABI). James holds a B.S. in chemistry from Grand Valley State University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of South Carolina.

Sven M. Jacobson, CFO, Co-Founder

Sven has co-founded five healthcare startups and has served as CEO and CFO of each at various times during their development. He has experience in cardiovascular, orthopedic, and neurological therapeutic, device and diagnostic development. Sven has been CEO of Remedy Pharmaceuticals since 2007. Additionally, he runs the day-to-day operations of Carrot Capital Healthcare Ventures and represents the fund on the boards of its three portfolio companies. 

John A. Butterfield, Ph.D. (candidate), MBA, Vice President Business Development Asia Pacific

John joined Critical Diagnostics in December 2011 to develop the Asia Pacific business. Prior to joining Critical Diagnostics John spend over 10 years in commercial business development of clinical biomarkers (BNP, troponin, & N-GAL) in the region, most recently representing Alere, formerly Inverness Medical, as the Director of Clinical Cardiovascular/Renal Asia Pacific. John holds a B.App.Sc(Honours) in Sport and Exercise Science from University of Western Sydney, also, MBA from La Trobe University in Melbourne, and is currently researching cardiovascular biomarkers in cardiac disease patients at the University of Western Sydney’s Ph.D. program.
